Consignor Scheduling

Dropoff Scheduling Setup Guide

The new Dropoff Scheduling integration with Calendar.com allows you to schedule, reschedule, and organize drop-off, delivery, or pick-up appointments. This setup guide will help you connect to the calendar system, schedule your first event, and share your scheduling link with whomever you choose, including your consignors via the Consignor Access portal.

Connecting the Calendar System

To connect SimpleConsign to your new appointment calendar, visit the Settings tab at the top-right within SimpleConsign, and then click the Options tab. Expand the “Scheduling Dropoff” menu option as seen below.

Check the “Enable/Disable” box to turn on Dropoff Scheduling. If you wish to allow consignors to schedule their own appointments via Consignor Access, check the 2nd check box as well.

Enter in your store email address and click “Verify”.

This will send a 6-digit code to you via e-mail that we will need for the next step. Copy that code into the box shown below and click “Submit”.

Now that the calendar system is connected, the next step is to setup your first calendar “event” and begin scheduling appointments.

Setting up your new Calendar

Creating your first Workspace

  1. Enter your first and last name on the Welcome screen and click “Next”.

  2. The next screen allows you to connect any existing calendars you may already be using for scheduling consignor appointments. Unless you have one that you’d like to connect, select “Create My Own”.

  3. Using the Label box, give your Calendar a name (ex. Dropoff Appointment) and select a color. Click Create Calendar.

  4. If you use another calendar for your business, you can add it on the next screen. Otherwise, just click Next.

  5. On the Create Workspace screen, name the workspace your store name without spaces (ex. BellaBoutique) and click Next and finally Save.

  6. Enjoy the brief tutorial by clicking Next and finally Save.

Creating your first Event

Within Team Scheduling, you’ll start by customizing your first “event”. Think of the event as the meeting that consignors will be joining to drop-off their items (Dropoff Appointment). If you sell furniture and schedule pickups or deliveries, for example, you could also have a 2nd event for that (Schedule Pickup). Most customers will probably have a single event for consignor appointments.

Select the top-right menu button and “Edit” your default event.

Event Name & Details

Give your event a meaningful name (ex. DropOff Appointment) and enter any instructions for the consignor. Above is an event example of a typical drop-off appointment.

When you’ve entered the details for your first event, click “Continue” at the bottom. This will take you to the Availability tab where you will select the days and times when you accept appointments.

Setting Event Availability

Using the options available on this screen, we’ve modified our availability to a 30-minute event duration (top), set our time zone from the drop list, and used the “handles” on the top and bottom of each blue bar to set our available hours. We removed hours from Tuesday by clicking the “X” on the bar.

This indicates we are accepting 30-minute appointments on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 11am to 4pm EST.

When you are done setting up availability, click Continue.

Assigning People & Places

Use this tab to identify with who and where the meeting will take place.

We modified this screen and removed “Zoom Call” with the “X” and added an “In-Person” appointment from the Location(s) drop-down list. We entered our physical store location and included some instructions. Host and Calendar were kept default. Click Save.

When done setting People & Places, click “Continue” to see Additional Event Options.

Additional Options for your Event

On this tab, you can setup reminders (e-mail and SMS text) to remind your consignors that their appointment is approaching. You can even setup a text reminder to yourself. To setup either, click the “Add Reminder +” link.

If you’d like your consignor to answer a question(s) during the scheduling process, use the “Custom Questions” link to add your question(s).

“Payments” can be used to charge a fee for the appointment via Stripe (unlikely).

“Confirmation Page Link” can be used to redirect your guest to a web page when the appointment is booked.

When completed, click “Save & Close”.

Congrats! You’ve just created your first Event!

Sharing your Scheduling Link

On this page you’ll see the link that you’ll use to allow consignors to book new appointments with you. You can click the “copy” button (see arrow) to copy that link to your Clipboard so that you can share (paste) it elsewhere (website, social media, etc.). This link will allow your consignors to schedule their own drop-off appointments.

Adding your Scheduling Link to Consignor Access

If you’re using Consignor Access, copy this link and head back to the SimpleConsign Settings, Options, Scheduling Dropoff and paste the link into the “Scheduling Link” box and set a name for the button that your consignors will see in Consignor Access (ex. Schedule Dropoff).

This important step connects your new calendar to your consignors via a link they see when they log into Consignor Access, as shown below.
